Check reporting completeness first
A monthly total built from incomplete daily reports can look like weak trading. Review which operating dates are submitted before comparing the result with budget. A missing report and a confirmed zero-revenue day are different records.
Explain the change through operating drivers
Review guest volume, average check, revenue mix and control amounts before moving to recorded expenses. A monthly figure becomes more actionable when a manager can identify the dates and services responsible for its movement.
Keep the result provisional when costs are incomplete
Automatic service charge can be present before HR posts salaries. That does not make the entire month’s labour cost complete. Review payroll coverage and purchase inputs before describing an interim operating result as final Net EBITDA.
